The victims of barbaric attrocities throughout generations have the strength, courage and creativity to make songs such as these pleading with the almighty for protection. Meanwhile their enemies and abusers are plotting vengeance and bloodshed as we speak. The contrasts between us Jews and so many other belief systems couldn't be starker! As I wrote earlier, I came upon this out of boredom (I'm not Jewish btw). Once I spied on a Masonic lodge meeting ('tis true). - It's actually pretty boring and tiring stuff. I was expecting something along those lines, meeting only to deal with administrative and financial matters. I was instead very moved by how everyone was singing, playing musical instruments, a display of camaraderie I've never observed before, anywhere. After all, it appears people only care about themselves, but the above proves the opposite. You can't get this at a lodge meeting or any social function that I've ever been to.
